What are the different types of backlinks? Off-Page SEO tutorial

Backlinks in Off-Page SEO are super important! We will talk about the different types of backlinks that exist and how you can get them. Before we get into it, let's explain backlinks: A backlink is when someone posts a link to your website on their website or blog so people can find your site and click through.

Now, let's look at some of the different types of backlinks below.

Social Bookmarking

One type of backlink is social bookmarking. This is where you submit your link to a website that allows people to bookmark their favorite websites. There are many different social bookmarking sites, some of the most popular ones are Digg, Delicious, and StumbleUpon.

These are used to increase the validity of your higher DR(Domain Rating) links.

When you submit your link, make sure to include a catchy headline and a brief description of your website. This will help people understand what your website is about and why they should click through.

Web 2.0 Profiles

What are Web 2.0 profiles? These are profiles that you create on a website, and these profiles contain a backlink to your website. Many different websites allow you to create a profile, some of the popular ones include:

  • Twitter
  • Facebook
  • LinkedIn

To get backlinks from your profiles, you need to remember to include your link in your profile bio section.

Web 2.0 Blogs

These are blogs that allow you to create a profile and post articles on the site. You can also share your posts on other social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, which can help your posts get read by more people. There are many different Web 2.0 sites that you can create profiles on such as:

  • Medium
  • Livejournal
  • Blogger

Although Web 2.0 Blogs aren’t as strong as outreach but are still high DA(Domain Authority) and easy authority builders.

To get backlinks from these types of sites, you need to create a profile and share your posts, with backlinks included in the posts, or your author profile. Make sure to post engaging content so people want to follow you and read more about what you have to say. You can also share your posts on other social media sites so more people will see them.

PDF Sharing Sites

These are websites that allow you to upload a pdf file of your article and then share it with other people. When someone downloads your pdf, they will see the link back to the website you included.

These sites have high DA and are an easy way to boost your DA.

To get started, you need to upload a pdf version of your article. Make sure the pdf includes a link to your website in it so when someone downloads it, they can see where it came from. You can also include this link in the description of the pdf so even if someone doesn't download it, they will still see the link.

Elgg Blogs

These are a bit like Web 2.0 blogs, where you can post articles on the site, but it's mainly used as a social network.

They have lower spam scores than Web 2.0s but also have less DA.

The getting started process is similar to Web 2.0 blogs, create a profile, add users to your friend list, and start sharing posts! In which your friends will be able to see the update on their feed.

Wikis

Wikis are a type of website where people can collaborate on articles and create a database of information. They are often used for educational purposes or to share information about a certain topic.

These kinds of backlinks are mainly used to increase the validity of your website.

To get backlinks from wikis, you can create an article on a topic and include a link to your website in the article. You can also add your website as a resource on relevant pages, which will help people find your site and click through.

Guest blogging

Guest blogging is when you write an article for another blog or website and get them to publish it.

This is a great way to get backlinks because it helps you reach new audiences and grow your website traffic. To do this, you need to find blogs that are relevant to your niche and offer to write an article for them. Once the article is published, you can include a link back to your website in the bio or author box.

Blog Outreach

Blog outreach is when you reach out to other bloggers and ask them to include links to your websites in their blogs.

To get started with blog outreach, you need to find bloggers in your industry and reach out to them. You can find these bloggers by using Google or Twitter search, or by looking at other blogs in your industry. When you reach out to them, make sure you are friendly and professional, and that you offer something of value to them. You can also offer to write a guest post for their blog or include a link to their blog in your blogs in return.
